Furniture
Hi-fi furniture gives a system a stable foundation, from stands that place loudspeakers at the intended height to racks and wall shelves that carry each component. Audio Lounge presents stands from Spendor and KEF, racks from Quadraspire and Montaudio, and the Quadraspire SVT Wall Shelf. Enquire about furnishing a new or growing system on Wigmore Street.

Furniture That Serves the Sound
Furniture decides where each part of a system sits and how steadily. Quadraspire’s view is that resonance control in a rack shows up in the sound of the whole system, and Spendor matches the height of each loudspeaker stand to one model.
KEF takes the same view of loudspeaker supports, engineering the S3 Floor Stand to make the most of the R3 Meta. The collection divides into supports for loudspeakers, frames for sources and amplifiers, and a wall shelf for compact rooms.
Stands Matched to the Loudspeaker
The speaker stands collection holds five Classic stands from Spendor, each matched to one loudspeaker of the Classic range, in satin black with stainless steel supports beneath the cabinet, plus the KEF S3 Floor Stand, an aluminium design from KEF for the R3 Meta with hidden cable routing. The choice of stand therefore starts with the loudspeaker.
Racks for Sources and Amplifiers
The hi-fi racks collection gathers the modular racks of Quadraspire, built in Britain on bamboo shelves from the Q4 EVO to the Quadraspire X-Reference, and the Manuka MR from Montaudio, founded in Auckland, in walnut and birch on stainless steel legs.
Quadraspire notes that solid bamboo ply suppresses vibration and is carbon neutral as well. Quadraspire and Montaudio add shelves one at a time, so a rack can follow the system through every upgrade.
The Quadraspire SVT Wall Shelf
Where floor space is short, a hi-fi wall shelf takes a component off the floor altogether. The Quadraspire SVT Wall Shelf holds one shelf or two on solid aluminium feet with brass inserts, and the arms come in cherry, black, dark or natural.
Quadraspire supplies no wall fixings, so the fixings should suit the wall itself; Audio Lounge can advise on whether a wall-mounted hi-fi rack suits your room.
Planning Furniture for a Growing System
Plan the room first: the position of the loudspeakers, the place for each component and the route of every cable. A stand sized for the loudspeaker and a rack with room for one more component leave space for the system to grow.
Allow for the widest and heaviest component when choosing a rack, and for the height of the listening chair when choosing a stand. The Wigmore Street team at Audio Lounge can plan the furniture alongside the system itself.
Questions About Hi-Fi Furniture
What hi-fi furniture does a system need?
A system of separates usually needs two things: stands that hold each loudspeaker at the designer’s intended height, and a rack or wall shelf that keeps each component level and steady. Spendor and KEF make stands for specific models, and Quadraspire and Montaudio make modular racks, so Audio Lounge can plan both around your room.
Is a wall shelf a good alternative to a rack?
Yes, for a compact system: the Quadraspire SVT Wall Shelf frees floor space and holds up to 50 kg in total, whether on one shelf or two. Quadraspire supplies the shelf without wall fixings, so choose fixings rated for the wall and the load.
Which finishes are available?
The Spendor stands come in satin black, the KEF S3 Floor Stand in Slate Grey or Mineral White, with Indigo Matte as a special edition, and the Quadraspire bamboo shelves in black, dark, cherry and natural, with black or orange Nextel on the X-Reference. Audio Lounge can confirm the finishes in stock.
