Hi-Fi Systems

Hi-fi systems that arrive complete: sources, amplification and loudspeakers matched to work as one. The Ruark R410 gathers streaming, radio and loudspeakers into a single cabinet, the Ruark Sabre-R & R610 Music System sets Ruark’s R610 console beside separate loudspeakers, and the Rega System One builds a complete vinyl system around the Planar 1 turntable. Audio Lounge can help match a system to the room and the music.

What Makes a Complete Hi-Fi System

A hi-fi system brings the sources, the amplification and the loudspeakers together in one purchase, matched as a set rather than assembled piece by piece. Where a system of separates asks for a decision at every link in the chain, a complete stereo system arrives ready, with fewer boxes, fewer cables and one conversation about the whole. The music centre once promised the same convenience; the modern home music system adds streaming, digital radio and sound worthy of a serious room.

Ruark: Streaming, Radio and Vinyl in One Cabinet

The Ruark R410 is an all-in-one music system with Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect built in, Apple AirPlay and Google Cast, Bluetooth, DAB, FM and internet radio, a phono input for moving magnet cartridges and HDMI ARC for television sound, all playing through loudspeakers built into the same cabinet. The R410 Anniversary Edition dresses the same all-in-one hi-fi system in white oak veneer with a handcrafted ebonised grille, in a limited run of five hundred, and Ruark’s R-CD100 adds CD over USB.

The Ruark Sabre-R & R610 Music System separates the roles: the R610 console handles streaming, radio, Bluetooth, a turntable input and HDMI ARC, while a pair of Sabre-R loudspeakers sets the stereo image across the room. Separate loudspeakers can be placed to suit the room, the first step from an all-in-one towards separates.

Rega System One: A Complete Vinyl System

The Rega System One gathers Rega’s Planar 1 turntable, io amplifier and Kyte loudspeakers, with speaker cable and a mini remote in the box. Rega set out to make the system easy to install and easy to live with, so a record collection can play straight from the box, and every component comes from Rega’s own range.

From System to Separates

A complete system can be the whole answer or the first step. For a wireless hi-fi system built around a pair of streaming loudspeakers, explore the wireless hi-fi speakers; for a console that drives loudspeakers of the owner’s choosing, the streaming amplifiers; and for a dedicated vinyl front end, the turntables. The full ranges are in the Ruark and Rega collections, and the Audio Lounge team on Wigmore Street can talk through every route.

Questions About Hi-Fi Systems

What is a hi-fi system?

A hi-fi system is a complete set of components for playing music at high fidelity: sources, amplification and loudspeakers, either in one cabinet or as matched separate units. The Ruark R410 is a single-cabinet example, while the Ruark Sabre-R & R610 Music System and the Rega System One are matched sets of separate components sold as one.

What is the difference between an all-in-one music system and separates?

An all-in-one music system places every function in one cabinet or one matched set; separates let every component be chosen and upgraded independently. The all-in-one route saves space and decisions, while separates leave more room to grow. Audio Lounge can help weigh the two for a particular room.

Can the Ruark R410 play CDs and records?

Yes. Ruark’s R-CD100 CD drive plugs into the R410 by USB and shows up as a further source, and a built-in phono stage lets a turntable with a moving magnet cartridge plug straight into the R410, with no separate phono stage needed.

Is the Ruark R410 a wireless hi-fi system?

Yes. The R410 joins a home network over Wi-Fi or Ethernet for Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay and Google Cast, and receives Bluetooth from phones and tablets.
