The Saturn MK3 offers a variety of connectivity options, supporting up to 24bit-192 kHz. It features two optical inputs, two Co-Axial inputs, a fully asynchronous USB, and an additional ‘direct’ digital output from the CD playback section. This ensures that the Saturn MK3 integrates seamlessly into any system, making it an ideal companion for the brand-new Rega Elicit MK5 integrated amplifier.

High-Performance CD Player
The Saturn MK3 utilises Rega’s digital to analogue converter and analogue output amplifier technology, paired with two high-performance Wolfson WM8742 digital to analogue converter ICs. This audiophile CD Player also features a CD section power supply derived from the research and development of Rega’s reference CD player, enhanced with an improved microcontroller and display drivers.
The Rega Saturn MK3 is expertly designed with a high stability master clock and a robust high capacity power supply in the CD circuitry, ensuring unparalleled audio fidelity. For top-notch signal processing, Saturn MK3’s DAC circuitry boasts isolated digital inputs paired with an advanced high performance power supply architecture. Ingeniously, signal switching in the Saturn MK3 between its CD and DAC functions is seamlessly handled in the digital to analogue converter stage. Furthermore, Saturn MK3 smartly maintains a minimal signal path in the CD section when in CD mode, optimising audio clarity and detail.
Rega’s DAC USB input features enhanced asynchronous operation at sample rates ranging from 44.1 to 192 kHz and supports a bit rate of up to 24 bits. This USB input incorporates the same galvanic isolation as found in the Rega DAC-R. To optimise performance, the USB input relies on dedicated drivers in the computer, ensuring full ASIO operation and eliminating signal degradation typically associated with generic Windows-based drivers.
To utilise the USB function of the Saturn MK3, download and install the Rega USB Windows driver on your PC, accessible via the downloads section on this web page. Follow the provided installation instructions. After installation, the USB will be ready for use. Note that this driver is not necessary for MAC OS users.
It is crucial to ensure that your system is correctly configured to output high-resolution files within your chosen audio/media playback software.
In cases where your PC does not automatically select the connected USB audio device, manually select the XMOS AUDIO DEVICE from the drop-down list.
