Some systems are assembled; the best small ones are resolved. The KEF LSX II is hi-fi resolved into two compact cabinets — streaming source, amplification and loudspeakers engineered together as one instrument, then finished with the eye of a design house. For a study, a kitchen, a first apartment or the desk of someone who refuses to compromise at work, the KEF LSX II remains the reference answer.

Audio Lounge stocks the KEF LSX II because miniature systems rarely sound like music, and this one does.

The Uni-Q Idea, Perfected in Miniature

Every KEF LSX II cabinet carries the company’s signature Uni-Q driver array: a 19mm aluminium dome tweeter seated at the exact acoustic centre of a 115mm magnesium and aluminium alloy cone. Because high and low frequencies leave from a single point, the stereo image locks into place across the whole room rather than one narrow seat — voices hang between the speakers, instruments keep their positions, and the sweet spot becomes a sweet sofa. Behind each driver sits 100 watts of Class D amplification, individually assigned to tweeter and cone, giving a pair of speakers this size composure that genuinely surprises.

Every Way You Listen

The KEF LSX II treats streaming as a native language. AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and Roon Ready certification join Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Amazon Music, Qobuz and Deezer through the KEF Connect app, with network streams handled at up to 24-bit/384kHz. Television sound arrives over HDMI ARC, a USB-C input serves the desktop, an optical input welcomes consoles and disc players, and a 3.5mm connection keeps a turntable with a phono stage in the family. The app then tunes the acoustics to the room and the speakers’ placement — shelf, desk or stands — in a few guided steps.

Small Speakers, Serious Intent

Ambition is designed in, not bolted on. A dedicated subwoofer output lets a powered subwoofer such as the KEF KC62 extend the system into genuine cinema territory, while the wired inter-speaker connection raises the link between the pair to 24-bit/96kHz for the most demanding listening. Purpose-made stands complete a floor-standing installation where a shelf will not do. The result is a system that begins as a desktop companion and grows into the heart of a room — with the KEF Coda W as the simpler alternative below and the KEF LS50 Wireless II waiting above when appetite outgrows the cabinet.

Finishes by Design

Designed with Michael Young, the KEF LSX II wears fabric and form as deliberately as any furniture piece. Carbon Black and Cotton White suit the quietly modern interior, Amber Haze brings warmth to the palette, and the Soundwave edition by Terence Conran turns the pair into a signed object. Compact dimensions of just 240mm in height let the KEF LSX II sit where music is actually lived with — which is precisely the point.

About KEF

Founded in Maidstone, Kent in 1961, KEF has spent more than six decades pursuing a single conviction: that loudspeakers should disappear, leaving only the performance. From pioneering BBC-era engineering to the Uni-Q driver array that defines the modern range, KEF research has shaped how Britain — and the world — listens. Today the family runs from the compact Coda W through the LSX II and LS50 collections to the flagship references, each carrying the same point-source philosophy. Audio Lounge is proud to present KEF in London. Explore the full KEF range at Audio Lounge.

Questions About the KEF LSX II

What are the KEF LSX II?

The KEF LSX II are compact wireless hi-fi speakers combining streaming, amplification and KEF’s Uni-Q driver array in one two-speaker system. With 100 watts per speaker, HDMI ARC, USB-C and app control, the KEF LSX II replace a full separates system for desks, shelves and smaller rooms. Audition the pair at Audio Lounge, London.

What is the Uni-Q driver in the KEF LSX II?

Uni-Q places the 19mm aluminium dome tweeter at the acoustic centre of the 115mm magnesium/aluminium alloy cone, so all frequencies radiate from a single point. The result is a stable stereo image across the whole room rather than one listening seat — the signature of every modern KEF loudspeaker.

What resolution do the KEF LSX II support?

The KEF LSX II handle network streams at up to 24-bit/384kHz, USB-C sources at 24-bit/192kHz and optical at 24-bit/96kHz, with MQA, DSD, FLAC, WAV, ALAC and more supported across the network input. The wired inter-speaker connection runs at 24-bit/96kHz; wireless between the pair at 24-bit/48kHz.

What connections do the KEF LSX II offer?

Inputs comprise HDMI ARC, TOSLINK optical, USB-C, a 3.5mm auxiliary and Ethernet, with dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth handling wireless sources. A dedicated RCA subwoofer output completes the panel. AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Roon Ready and the streaming services run through the KEF Connect app.

Can I add a subwoofer to the KEF LSX II?

Yes. A dedicated subwoofer output on the primary speaker connects any powered subwoofer, with KEF’s own KC62 the natural partner for film nights and bass-rich music. Output level and crossover behaviour are managed in the KEF Connect app.

Do the KEF LSX II work with a television?

Yes. The HDMI ARC input takes television sound directly, with the TV remote controlling volume, and the optical input serves consoles and set-top sources. Paired with the subwoofer output, the KEF LSX II make a discreet, genuinely musical alternative to a soundbar.

What does the KEF LSX II app do?

The KEF Connect app handles setup, streaming services, inputs and acoustic tuning. Guided EQ adjusts the sound for placement on a desk, shelf or stands and for the room itself, while an expert mode offers finer control. Firmware updates and the subwoofer settings live in the same place.

What are the KEF LSX II dimensions?

Each KEF LSX II speaker measures 240 x 155 x 180mm (H x W x D), with the pair weighing 7.1kg. The compact footprint suits desks and shelving, and dedicated KEF stands are available where a floor-standing position is preferred.

What is the difference between the KEF LSX II and the KEF LSX II LT?

The KEF LSX II LT is the simplified version: cabled-only connection between the speakers, no auxiliary input and a trimmed finish palette at a lower position in the range. The KEF LSX II add wireless inter-speaker connection, the 3.5mm input and the full finish collection including the Soundwave edition.

Where can I audition the KEF LSX II in the UK?

Audio Lounge demonstrates the KEF LSX II at 138–140 Wigmore Street, London, alongside the KEF Coda W and KEF LS50 Wireless II for direct comparison. Arrange a private audition, bring your own music, and hear the Uni-Q presentation in person. Enquire today to book a listening session.
